My challenge here was to get a large subject in a small format. I love this oval dish and have painted it before. I especially like the shadow of the pepper stem on the violet cloth. I think it makes the shadow shape very interesting.

Yes I agree Jan, the shadow is a great shape, the whole subject has that sense of 'fullness', rich in colors and I love the design. Not always easy to keep a design going when the subject is such a BIG statement on such a small format. Way to go!
